The Party Animal: Ever ready to celebrate this happy-go-lucky animal has the stamina of a cheetah and the joyous temperment of small child on Christmas. The Elephant Seal: Is he lost? Hurt? Does he need assistance? No the Marine Mammal Rescue Man told us this 7-month old seal is healthy and just resting. A few momments after this photo was taken he went out with the tide. Goodbye and goodluck little fella!
The Banana Slug: We saw this little guy on our way thru the stand of sequoias just outside of Santa Cruz in the Howard Cowell Redlands National Park. As instructed in the visitor's center, we were on the watch out for bobcats, racoons, mountain lions and bats, but all we saw were some rust-tailed squirrels, a few jays and this slug. The trees were fabulous and the dappled light on the forest floor below was mesmerizing. Overall it was a fantastic 1-hour trek. We were thrilled to see this mollosk, and he looked pretty happy to see us, too.
