55 Flash Fiction Friday ~ TV Dinner

Four separate compartments of aluminum contained nutrition.

Creamy mashed potatoes with dairy-land butter melting on top.

Golden crusted, crispy fried chicken;

juicy thigh, tender lickin' good leg, and plump breast.

Petite peas, diced carrots, corn niblets.

And last, but not least; three delicious slices of glazed peaches.

Heated to perfection in my oven at 425*.

This 55 was inspired by the picture on Susie The Boss's 55 post which was post-Thanksgiving.

I haven't had a TV dinner in years, but we occasionally heat up a Lean Cuisine in the micro. I love their new panini's. Luckily both Sideways Sam and I like to cook and therefore we don't eat prefab food very much. But on those nights when we've both worked late and there is not much in the frige, we will dine ala microwave, or order a thin-crust pizza delivered from Pizza Hut. If I'm home alone and too tired to cook for myself, I'll make due with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Please, tell me what you eat when you're hungry, tired and there isn't anything good & nutricious ready to eat.

55 Flash Fiction Friday ~ Speedy

My aching belly! I haven't felt like this since I was 9 years old, and I ate an entire bowl full of fresh picked cherries all by myself. Alka-Seltzer, please do your stuff! I'll never eat again. Relief couldn't come fast enough. Wow! This stuff really works. Is it time for a turkey sandwich, yet?

55 Flash Fiction Friday ~ I Want Rain

i can walk across a paved parking lot and find a 4 leaf clover,
but today i'd have to run between the raindrops

and i don't like to get wet, unless i'm floating in my pool
so i'll just sit here with my cat watch her play...

chasing laser pens around the room, just for fun!

55 Flash Fiction Friday - Wheezy was her name-O

Her chest was rattling like an old tin can. It had been going like this for three weeks. No other symptoms really, except the gallons of clear fluid that she was sick of blowing. Damn allergies!

Lil hoped the good doc would give her a new miracle drug to relieve the wheezing, sneezing and dripping.

55 Flash Fiction Friday ~ Gryphon

No one dared steal a crumb while this glorious beast was on guard. Jewels, golden coins and maidens were all safe from thief’s harm. The magnificent gryphon with talons sharp as glass, paced back and forth. Superb at protecting King Farouk’s fortune he was. Wings made for glory, piercing eyes, and talons sharp as glass.
