Let Freedom Ring!
***
This week I am on vacation in Palm Springs with my husband, and we're celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary. The other night we had one of those grand conversations where we solved all the problems of the world with our Utopian ideas. I was on my usual rant about the greatest untapped resource this world has ever known - the power of women!
***
By utilizing our shear numbers, the women of the world could unite to create a powerful force like the earth has yet to see, and we could fix the worlds ills. I truly believe this is possible. It's basic mathematics. By head count females outnumber males; 51 to 49. Now would this number advantage be enough to right the wrongs of the world? Probably not, but united with the men of the earth that could be persuaded to go along - I think we could make a powerful difference.
***
Now why do I think it would be possible to unite women, when
1) it has yet to be done in how many decades of life on the planet, and
2) women can be as contrary as men when it comes to agreeing on anything?
***
I believe that women, as the keepers of the creative flame have enough in common, and enough at stake in protecting their progeny that an accord can be reached on most subjects that are crucial to the human race's survival on this great blue marble. We merely need to learn to communicate freely with each other. The Internet is a great step forward in the race to connect every person on the planet. The more we are connected, the more we are interested in each other's predicaments, and the more we can come to a consensus on the race's priorities
and the best solutions to solving all of our problems.

Should we tackle hunger, greed, a health crisis, issues facing the environment, or global warming first? What shall we put our collective efforts toward eradicating? These are questions that can be answered after our first task is met, uniting enough men & women with the knowledge that they can make a difference. My husband & I agree, so that leaves 6,560,348,427, or so to go...
